The Power of Play

All people, young, old and everything in between, need play in their lives as much as they need to eat and breathe. Play supports the development of our children into balanced adults who can ultimately work and play together. Child-directed play is even better in helping children develop creatively and socially at a better pace for them. Below is a bit about play and this blog's philosophies.

What is Play?

Play is a fun, enjoyable activity that elevates our spirits and brightens our outlook on life. It expands self-expression, self-knowledge, self-actualization and self-efficacy. Play relieves feelings of stress and boredom, connects us to people in a positive way, stimulates creative thinking and exploration, regulates our emotions, and boosts our ego” (Garry Landreth, 2002).

Welcome to Breathe.Play.Live.

This blog is to encourage play and opportunities to have fun for everyone. Play should be as important to humans as breathing. This will be my contribution to helping more people make that happen!
